Here at the Stamford Notebook Company we are frequently asked to make fabric notebooks using customer’s own fabrics. Because we pride ourselves on our hand bookbinding we are delighted to help.
We normally start by making a sample cover – to check the suitability of the fabric. Most fabrics are very different from bookbinding cloths – they tend to have far more stretch and a greater thickness. They were generally not designed to be glued to boards! Often customer’s fabric will have a strong pattern and any stretch in cover making can lead to distortion.
Along with customers’ own fabrics bespoke notebooks can be produced with individually designed pages to create a completely unique book. These are ideal for designers or retailers looking for books that can display their individual work.
