Honoured again: retaining our Stationers' Company Warrant for 2026

For the second consecutive year, The Stamford Notebook Company has been recognised by one of Britain's oldest and most distinguished livery companies — a recognition that means the world to us.

We are thrilled to share that The Stamford Notebook Company has retained its Warrant from The Stationers' Company for 2026 — and this renewal feels, if anything, even more meaningful than when we first received the honour last year.

On Monday 9th March, Hugo Spiegl and Aimee Fionda attended the Livery Lunch at Stationers' Hall in the City of London, where the Warrant was formally presented before 180 guests gathered for the 14th annual ceremony.

The Stationers' Company is a City of London livery company with roots stretching back to 1403 and a Royal Charter granted in 1557.

Upper Warden Ian Leggett reminded guests on the day that the Warrants scheme is a direct continuation of that centuries-old tradition — giving people an assurance of high-quality products and services within our industry. For us to be included in that lineage, for a second year running, is something to be really proud of.

The Warrant is awarded annually by a panel of industry experts across the many sectors represented by the Stationers' Company. The criteria is rigorous — and rightly so. Judges look for evidence of:

  • Original design and a distinctive interpretation of product or service

  • High-quality manufacturing and production techniques

  • Effective use of materials and careful attention to detail

  • Appropriate, sustainable packaging and presentation

  • Environmental credentials and ethical trading practices

  • Clear relevance to industry and market

These are the principles we have built this brand on. We print in-house and bind every notebook by hand. Our paper is milled to our own specification by James Cropper, one of Britain's finest paper mills. At a time when so much stationery production has drifted overseas in pursuit of ever-lower costs, we have held the line on quality, on craft, and on keeping things local and sustainable. The Warrant is an independent verification that this approach is worth maintaining. We are fully committed to ensuring that what we create is consistent, always improving, and above all, valued by our customer.

None of this is possible without the people who make these notebooks by hand, day in and day out — our fantastic team here in Stamford, whose skill, attention to detail, and pride in their work is evident in every finished product. And none of it matters without our wonderful customers, who choose to invest in something thoughtfully made, who return again and again, and who share our belief that well-crafted stationery is worth having.

We look forward to another year of making stationery we are proud of — and to carrying the Stationers' Company Warrant crest as a symbol of that commitment.

Thank you
